Today we had our first lesson of IS1104 in the first week of school. Our teacher, Miss Lin, led us through the lesson by setting us to think about how the atmosphere helps us and how the composition of air leads to the this help.
As for me, I had already learnt about the composition of air during my first two yrs in my secondary school, but I never really thought about how much importance each component had. I always knew about the carbon cycle, the nitrogen cycle and all, but I never REALLY thought hard about just how important all these components of air was to us. All I ever thought about air was that if we didn't have the oxygen in it, we'd die.
The lesson made me realise even more how important everything on Earth is to us, every bit of the atmosphere included. I always knew nitrogen existed and that plants take it in through the means of bacteria in the soil, but I know realise that in a way I help return it back to the atmosphere by eating those plants. That's just how important I am, just like you, me, him, her and everything else.

ReplyDeleteI thought the 1st lesson was quite simple, but after reading this I think maybe I can change my mind...:D em, It is true that sometimes we neglect something important around us just because it is too familiar...
